JOLIE PRATHER rambles on in south central kentucky where she is a photographer by trade and can most often be found in her living-room-turned-bedroom ensconced by two zenith cabinet record players and three large paintings by people she does not know. the turntable that works cost five dollars. it plays vinyl, tapes and public radio. the largest painting was free. the tall one cost eight dollars. her television is pressed against a window, looking out, to remind it and the rest of the world that there is more to life than situation comedies and faux reality. jolie does not like war. she likes diplomacy, kisses, fishes, flowers and people who love themselves or die trying. she has been published here, as well as there, and is impressed to have earned enough dollars from various journals and anthologies to afford such amenities as a 15-gallon freshwater aquarium with pretty little fish named one, two, three, four, five and six. jolie likes syntax and she approves this bio.
